Abstract: The lower member of the Lower Jurassic Wuchang Formation in the Shenjiaying region,Huangshi,Hubei represents a typical depositional system of meandering streams,and may be divided into five sedimentary facies:river-bed lag deposits,meandering bar,natural levee,flood basin and overbank fan.The hydrodynamic conditions and palaeogeographic features are discussed in detail in the present paper on the basis of sedimentary facies distribution.
