Abstract:
The present paper deals with the controls on the composition and distribution of the clay minerals from the Jurassic sandstone reservoirs in the Turpan-Hami Basin, Xinjiang The controlling factors include medium conditions for sandstone porosity during diagenesis, infiltration of sandstone bodies formed in distinct sedimentary environments, tectonic settings, and palaeoclimates in the basins. The results in this study may be the important basis for the exploration of better sandstone reservoirs and establishment of the design schemes for acidulating oil extraction.
