Abstract:
Abundant information available for the prediction of gas pools has been obtained in the light of the temperatures and compositions of the fluid inclusions from the distal gas pools in western Sichuan. The data on the temperatures of the inclusions indicate that the constructive corrosion of the reservoir rocks took place during the late Yanshanian. The excellent reservoir rocks in the gas pools are mainly distributed in the favourable microfacies sandstones of the late Yanshanian structural highs. Fractures and fissures are multistaged, and the accumulation of the distal gas pools in western Sichuan is also multistaged, as revealed by the information on hydrocarbon-bearing fluids from these gas pools.
