Abstract:
It is different to conduct the stratigraphic division and correlation of the volcaniclastic rocks from the Jiufotang Formation in the Ludong depression, Liaoning due to less developed key horizons, complicated petrologic compositions, high background values of well logs and rapid facies changes of proximal deposits. In the present paper, four volcanic eruption phases are established for the lower member of the Jiufotang Formation according to the sedimentary intervals and well logs. The well-seismic calibration technique is proposed to establish the relationship between the lithological and electrical characteristics and seismic marker beds, and finally to better resolve the stratigraphic division and correlation, reservoir prediction and borehole localization in the study area.
