    • This paper deals with the theory and method of artificial heavy mineral analysis in the lowgrade metamorphic successions. The study of the terrigenous clastic rocks in the low-grade metamorphic successions of the Wangjiashan Formation in the Changba district, Chengxian County, Gansu Province shows that artificial heavy mineral analysis will be of great significance in palaeogeographic reconstruction.
