Sedimentary facies and palaeogeography of the lower member of the Lower Jurassic Wuchang Formation in the Shenjiaying region, Huangshi, Hubei

The lower member of the Lower Jurassic Wuchang Formation in the Shenjiaying region,Huangshi,Hubei represents a typical depositional system of meandering streams,and may be divided into five sedimentary facies:river-bed lag deposits,meandering bar,natural levee,flood basin and overbank fan.The hydrodynamic conditions and palaeogeographic features are discussed in detail in the present paper on the basis of sedimentary facies distribution.
