The logging interpretation of the Lower Ordovician solution intervals of the Tahe oil field, Xinjiang

    • The Tahe oil field as a particularly prolific area is conspicuous in the Tarim Basin, Xinjiang. The Lower Ordovician strata are believed to be the significant reservoir intervals in the oil field, and the solution spaces in the Lower Ordovician strata may serve as the main reservoir spaces. The results in this study show that the solution intervals have the recognizable well logs, which tend to exhibit a sharp finger decline in density. In addition, there are also striking differences in density and bilateral electrical resistivity responses of the Lower Ordovician solution intervals and the Middle and Upper Ordovician nodular limestones.
