    • The sedimentary facies and microfacies of the oil measures in the Caracoles working area, Venezuela are examined on the basis of cores, well logs and seismic data, and sedimentary facies indicators. The Mercure and Oficina Formations consist of terrestrial-marine transitional delta deposits. The reservoirs in the studied Formations are composed of delta plain distributary channel sandstone bodies, delta front subaqueous distributary channel and associated channel-mouth bar and frontal sheet sandstone bodies. The planar distribution and longitudinal evolution are also discussed in detail for the sedimentary microfacies of more than one hundred of rock beds in the oil measures of the working area.
