    • The last decades have seen considerable advances in the research on sequence stratigraphy, especially on high-resolution sequence stratigraphy. The presentation of new terminology, new techniques, and new models in this field may give a better resolution for the interpretation of geological, well logs and seismic data so as to contribute to the recognition of parasequence-scale sequence stratigraphic units and potential reservoir rocks and exploration of favourable oil and gas accumulation areas.
