  • The geometry and features of the subsurface faults and folds in the Lianhuashan area are discussed on the basis of the interpretation of the seismic profiles in integration with the evolution of western Sichuan foreland basin. Major faults in this area were evolved from the antecedent faults during the Himalayan orogeny. Some of the faults are overturned. The deposition in the basin is directly constrained by these faults.
