  • The preliminary study of the copper exploration prospect in the Seyao area,Xaitongmoin,Xizang is based on regional geology, stream sediment survey, soil survey and high-precision magnetic survey. The elemental anomalous diagrams based on the stream sediment survey in the Seyao area have disclosed anomalies in the elements such as Mo,Cu,Bi,Pb,Zn,Sb,Sn,W,Ag and Hg,especially in Mo and Cu.Furthermore, some existing copper-mineralized spots occur near the three magnetic anomalous fields, indicated by the magnetic contour diagram based on the 1:50 000 high-precision magnetic survey in the Seyao area.It is inferred, from the elemental associations based on the soil survey in the Seyao area, that the copper deposits in the Seyao area may be acidic intrusive-associated porphyry copper polymetallic ore deposits. It follows that the study area is expected to be prospective area for the copper polymetallic ore deposits associated with the intermediate-acidic intrusive rocks in the Seyao area.
