    Sedimentary facies model for the Lower Cretaceous gravity flow deposits in the southern sag of the Uliastai depression

    • The lithologic pools produced by gravity flows are considered as one of the important types in petroleum exploration.The Lower Cretaceous sandstones as the main reservoir sandstones of gravity flow origin in the southern sag of the Uliastai depression are characterized by random distribution,various sediment types and highly inhomogeneity.The present paper deals with the type and planar distribution of the gravity flow deposits,and presents a sedimentary facies model for the Lower Cretaceous gravity flow deposits in the study area on the basis of the examination of cores,well logs,3D seismic and petrographic data.The results of research in this study may be helpful to future exploration in lithologic oil pools in the study area.
