Reservoir quality and controlling factors of the Dongying Formation sandstone reservoirs in the eastern slope zone of the Chengbei low uplift in the Bohai Bay

More Information
  • Published Date: September 29, 2009
  • The Dongying Formation sandstone reservoirs in the eastern slope zone of the Chengbei low uplift in the Bohai Bay are made up of quartz sandstone, arkosic sandstone, and feldspathic quartz sandstone(greywacke). The rock pores constitute the main reservoir spaces, and the pore structures include intergranular pores, solution openings and micropores. The development of the sandstone reservoirs is controlled by deposition and subsequent diagenesis.Macroscopically, the sedimentary environments have exercised a major control on the development of the sandstone reservoirs, and microscopically, the compaction, cementation and dissolution have exerted an influence on the porosity evolution and physical properties of the sandstone reservoirs. As for the deeply-buried sandstone reservoirs, the diagenesis may have an important effect on the reservoir quality.
