Methods and application of seismic sedimentology:An overview

The present paper gives a general view of theory,current state,future development and key techniques of seismic sedimentology.The technique of stratal slicing is proposed to be applied to the study of the planar distribution of sedimentary systems and sedimentary facies.The technique of 90° phasing may provide the high-frequency sequence stratigraphic interpretation.As a rising discipline,the seismic sedimentology will make a breakthrough in the exploration of subtle hydrocarbon reservoirs.
