Sedimentary characteristics and stratigraphic ages of the Dayi conglomerates in Mingshan,Sichuan

More Information
  • Published Date: December 29, 2010
  • The present paper deals,in detail, with the measured section, lithologic associations and sedimentary environments of the Dayi conglomerates in Mingshan,Sichuan. The Dayi conglomerates are interpreted as a succession of proximal fluvial-alluvial deposits above the weathering crust, and display a coarsening-upward sequence. The predominant sporopollen associations Polypodiaceae in the stratigraphic section indicates that chronostratigraphically, the Dayi conglomerates should belong to the Pliocene.
