  • Significant quantities of oil occur in the second member of the Kongdian Formation in the Huanghua depression. The emphasis of the present paper is placed on the provenance, attributes of the parent rocks and sediment supply direction in terms of sandstone compositions, heavy minerals, sandstone distribution and seismic profiles. The detritus in the study area are believed to come mainly from the Xuhei and Chengning uplifts in the eastern part, and Cangxian uplift in the western part of the basin.
