Abstract
The hydrocarbon accumulation is explored in the light of the geology of the Jingsha Formation. The prerequisites for the hydrocarbon accumulation include long-term inherited structures, close association with oilgenerating depression and later structural destruction in the Jingsha Formation. The key factor includes the matching of favourable traps, faults and reservoir sandstones. The models for the hydrocarbon accumulation are presented in this study, including vertical and lateral hydrocarbon accumulation. The salt-dome structures and deep-seated fault structures may be considered as the favourable areas for the vertical hydrocarbon accumulation.
