Outer-fan deposits in the Jilin Formation in northern Jiangxi

The Mesoproterozoic Shuangqiaoshan Group in northern Jiangxi appears as a complete turbidite fan. The Jilin Formation of the Group as an outer fan is characterized by the distal turbidite fan sequences,well-developed submarine flow structures,simple palaeocurrents,and alternating purplish red and grayish green rock beds. The study of the outer-fan deposition may assist in the examination of the pre-Sinian geology in northern Jiangxi.
