Controlling factors for the Triassic hydrocarbon distribution in the Taibei depression,Turpan-Hami Basin,Xinjiang

More Information
  • Published Date: June 29, 2008
  • The Turpan-Hami Basin abounds in hydrocarbon resources and has great petroleum potential. The controlling factors for the Triassic hydrocarbon distribution are dealt with on the basis of the analysis of reservoir formation in the Taibei depression,Turpan-Hami Basin, including tectonic setting, geological structure,fault,unconformity,source-reservoir-seal association and trap arrangement, and fluid dynamics. The hydrocarbon accumulation has gone through multiple stages, and evolved in the later stages. The hydrocarbon accumulation stages depend upon the stages of tectonism and faulting, trap development and tempo-spatial arrangement,The hydrocarbon distribution, which varies in distinct regions and structural positions of the basin,is mainly governed by the attributes and features of the foreland basin.
