Lithologic reservoirs and exploration targets in the Shanshan region,Turpan-Hami Basin,Xinjiang

More Information
  • Published Date: September 29, 2009
  • The lithologic reservoirs in the Shanshan region,Turpan-Hami Basin,Xinjiang consist significantly of medium-to thin-bedded reservoir sandstones. The distribution and evolution of sedimentary systems are constrained by regional stress and tectonic movement. The physical properties of the reservoir sandstones and hydrocarbon potential are closely related with the distribution of sedimentary facies zones. The exploratory techniques comprise the delineation and evaluation of the drilling targets on the basis of horizon localization and interpretation, sequence stratigraphic analysis, and reservoir potential prediction, with the emphasis on the critical problems of reservoir distribution and prediction, and the lineation of potential areas in the Shanshan region,Turpan-Hami Basin.
