Filling-cemented cataclastic rock masses:Genetic mechanism and engineering geology

More Information
  • Published Date: June 29, 2010
  • The filling-cemented cataclastic rock masses are introduced in this study as a new type of cataclastic rock masses. The filling and cementation by calcium carbonate between rock masses lead to the high mechanical strength of the cataclastic rock masses in situ under certain circumstance of external disturbance.Unlike the common cataclastic rock masses with low mechanical strength under certain circumstance of external disturbance, they may be designed as dam-foundation rock masses.Care should be taken to distinguish them in engineering construction.
